Hardwood and it’s many options

Just deciding that you want hardwood floors, isn’t nearly the end of your options in this magnificent floor covering. For instance, there are two types of wood flooring, solid and engineered, and it’s likely that one will work better in your home than the other will. As the name implies, solid wood floors are made of one solid piece of wood all the way through. Engineered, on the other hand, has a veneer of real wood attached to a backing material.

Solid wood works great in any at or above ground level rooms. The fact that they expand and contract, makes them a bad choice for below level rooms such as basements. This can lead to cracking, warping and bending of the wood, which would cut the lifespan unnecessarily short.

You’ll have some other options as well when it comes to your wood floors:

Species

Deciding upon species gives you the ability to choose hard or softwoods. Harder woods will stand up better in high traffic areas, while the softer woods are good for closets and rooms that are not used often.

Finish

Choosing a finish can help determine how much everyday wear and tear shows on your floors. A finish such as distressed or hand-scraped can often hide scratches and scuffs, giving you more time before refinishing is needed.

Acquisition will expand company’s Historic Preservation Division

GreenHeart Companies has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire Allegheny Restoration and Millwork of Morgantown, West Virginia.

The acquisition of Allegheny presents tremendous opportunity for growth for GreenHeart’s Restoration and Millwork Division, which offers full-service restoration and custom millwork services and products to owners, property managers, architects, and contractors involved in residential, commercial and mixed-use Historic Building Preservation.

In 2020, company plans include expansion into new areas, enhanced software

Founded in 1974, Boardman’s GreenHeart Companies prides itself on being a trusted partner for commercial and residential construction. GreenHeart has expanded its reach through five divisions: GreenHeart Homes and Design Center, GreenHeart Commercial Construction, GreenHeart Windows, GreenHeart Restoration and Millwork, GreenHeart Property Management Group and Harvey’s Floor Coverings.

GreenHeart delivers a range of services to meet the needs of the dynamic marketplace. From pre-construction to occupancy GreenHeart — GreenHeart provides all the services needed to meet customers’ project objectives.

In 2019, GreenHeart saw a 35% increase of revenues over the previous year. The company now employs 42 and is active in southern Ohio, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia in addition to its Mahoning Valley operations. The company’s robust growth in 2019 necessitated the hiring of additional project managers, site-superintendents and support personnel. The Property Management Group expanded, and John Angelilli became a licensed Real Estate Sales Agent.

GreenHeart also continued to invest in Enterprise Resource Planning Software platforms and expects to migrate all accounting and project management to this new software platform in 2020.

A 25% growth rate is expected for top-line revenue, including the addition of multi-state licensing for General Contractors Work.

Homes/Design Center

Expansion of current residential development phases and adding three new developments in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. A 25% growth rate is expected.

Restoration and Millwork

Expanding the restoration and millwork division while also moving into Southern Ohio and West Virginia with the asset purchase of Allegheny Restoration and Millwork and integration of personnel specializing in Historic Preservation will provide the Historic Preservation segment added capability and capacity. A new focus on buying, selling and managing property in Historic Districts will bring new opportunities. A 200% growth in revenue is anticipated.

Windows and Commercial Storefront

The newest GreenHeart Company is American National Glass, which specializes in commercial storefront fabrication and installation. Large scale window replacement provides multi-tenant complexes with replacement options.

Property Management and Real Estate

Expanded to deliver quality property management and Real Estate Services Additional plans for 2020 include the continued development of GreenHeart’s residential communities: The Lakes at Sharrott Hill in North Lima, Bristol Park Estates in Boardman, Hampton Ridge Estates in Springfield, Reserve Run in Poland, Villas at Bricker Crossing in Salem and Wynfield Commons in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania and look for new exciting residential communities.

Buying Made Easy

Salem’s proximity to metropolitan areas provides an ideal blend of small-town life with access to big-city amenities. GreenHeart Companies, the selected general contractor for Campus Lofts, a new, state-of-the-art student housing complex is starting to take shape at the corner of Wick and Rayen avenues and is on schedule.

The GreenHeart team is responsible for all construction and worksite management, including a commitment to deliver the project on schedule and within budget.

The student housing loft apartments are expected to be completed in early summer 2020, said James Sabatine Jr., principal with Campus Lofts and owner of Trilogy Realty & Development in Canfield.

“We’re so pleased and excited that we earned the trust of Trilogy to deliver this state-of-the-art complex,” said Brian Angelilli, CEO, GreenHeart Companies.

The building will house about 210 beds. The concept for the student housing complex will feature a top penthouse floor with lofts, as well as technology and Wi-Fi infrastructure being engineered into the building, allowing for wireless internet connectivity throughout.

The project is “a stone’s throw from everything downtown,” including the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County next door and the DoubleTree by Hilton Youngstown Downtown a few blocks down the street. The student housing complex is located across the street from the Chipotle Mexican Grill and Mercy Health-Youngstown urgent care clinic now open in the retail portion of The Enclave student housing development, which sits catty-corner from the Campus Lofts site.
